OT: Say Hello To Walter
#1
Walter was found 3 wks ago abandoned and starving...Not chipped and sadly he was on the door of not surviving.

English Setter; 9 mos to maybe 2 years of age.

He was brought to our attention by a friend of ours who's a professional dog trainer and who also works with local animal control.

There is a lot of serendipity here...We called her out of the blue looking for a pack mate for our 15 mos old yellow Lab (Wilbur). He recently lost his 13 year old black lab brother (Auggie) and is clearly lonely w/out a pack mate.

An aside; Auggie is my avatar and I will honor that olde boy and keep him as that avatar the rest of this football season.

We did a meet and greet with the dogs (and people) a week ago and the guys got along well. Walter was self assured, chill.

Happily he's is being well taken care of now, under vet care, 3 meals a day. Put on at least 7 lbs since this pic..

So once he has put on enough weight, gets cleaned-up and vaccinated we're hoping to provide him with a forever home.

Hello to Walter and God bless you purple. He will take some time to recover but I'm certain he will have the love and care he needs in his new home. Looking forward to watching his growth and development over time.

We had a ditched kiten show up 3 weeks ago. Dang thing was so skinny and in such bad shape, we didn’t tell the kids. (they were gone). He’s flea and worm free now and putting on weight.

I just dont get how somebody could just toss an animal like its garbage.

That's fantastic news, pf!  Nothing better than finding your new forever pup by getting one that really needs a loving forever home.  It's a total win, win scenario - good luck and congrats!

Its amazing the abuse some dogs endure from crappy owners.  But somehow with a will to survive they can recover and learn to trust humans again.  Walter looks like he is going to be a good looking guy when he regains his health.  He is lucky you took him in.
