Vikings sign St. Croix Lutheran grad Garett Maag to contractGarett Maag went to high school 15 minutes away from TCO Performance Center. Now he’ll get to report there for work every day.
In an effort to add more depth to their roster, the Vikings officially signed Maag to a contract on Friday. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound receiver clearly turned heads during a workout at the practice facility on Thursday.
After making a name for himself at St. Croix Lutheran in high school, Maag committing to North Dakota for college. He finished his collegiate career with 162 receptions for 2,152 yards, and 18 touchdowns, proving to be a mismatch for opposing teams.
This news about Maag comes less than 24 hours after the Vikings got word that tight end Ben Ellefson was retiring.
That created an open roster spot that the Vikings opted to fill with a local kid.

I'll take him over Jalen Reagor. Check him out....also, this UND QB has the funkiest release I've seen since Tim Tebow. Has all the quickness and efficiency of a trebuchet.
We have to pay Reagor even if we send him packing. I can’t imagine him not making the roster.
I think it would be supportive to round out the WR group with a 5th WR who is on the bigger side, since it is a relatively on the smallish side. Could see him fill the niche as a red zone threat, but think Knowles and Jackson are more likely candidates for that last spot, two guys who I really could see flashing in pre season, thought Jackson looked really good last year and think he will be tough to keep off the roster.
Big, stronger kid with some good measurables. Not sure what that will mean, but he did get a sub 4.5 40 in (4.47).

Normally I'd agree but in a stacked WR room it might be better to cut ties with a bad player in order to hang on to a good one, even if Kwesi gets some egg on his face for that trade.

I've spent years adding the "perfect" music for business functions, trade shows, conferences, walk-ups, walk-ins and walk-outs. And there are situations where this music makes perfect sense. I've used it myself.
But who's the audience here? Who are you trying to stir up? It ain't your buddies. It ain't 40-year-old soccer moms who try to convince their kids they're "hip to the scene" by wearing Biggie shirts. It's scouts, recruiters and executives. Not that these people are necessarily turned off by this music (they're used to it). Just think more time spent on something more interesting and inspirational could help a player stand out.
I think of the Edwin Diaz walk-out song. I'd never even seen the guy pitch, but when I first heard this I was ready to fucking fight bulls to declare him the greatest reliever of all time.

One note on Youtube music, not that it applies to all of the highlight reels or the poor choices of music, but Youtube creator doesn't have a way to mute the audio other than to use their crappy music offerings.
I did some highlights for our kids team, and so it wasn't the NBA, NFL or MLB copyright I was avoiding, but my own cheering and conversation from my recordings. So I had to choose some lame music, one highlight video at a time to replace the actual audio.

You and I might be in close proximity of the same business. If I called for walkout music matching a President's/CEO's ethnicity, it would most likely be the last show I called...lol
