Was listening to Soloman Wilcots and Shane Vareen on NFL Radio this morning talking about the NFC North. Both said who they favor in the division has a lot to do if Dalvin Cook is on the Vikings or not. Said it would be a huge mistake to get rid of the second biggest weapon on our offense and starting the season with "one hand tied behind our backs" makes zero sense if we are aspiring to win the division again. Said it's foolish to think Maddison, Chandler or anybody in our backfield is capable of doing the same things Cook does and he is a consensus top 5 running back.

Basically saying what I've been saying since this talk of getting rid of him started. Hope it doesn't happen but it sounds like a forgone conclusion

He's the best RB on this team, so to your point to those that think we won't miss Cook: not true. To what degree remains to be seen. Tough decision for the Vikings, but he's gone for sure.

Yeah, I don't get all this "if" talk. Cook will be traded or released after June 1st and the Vikings will go to more of a committee backfield with Mattison, Chandler and McBride.

I'm not one of these "Mattison is better than Cook" dupes. I was all for giving Cook his money. The timing was right and it wasn't likely he'd see the end of it. Well here we are, and no he's not. I don't know whether it was his shoulder or what, but he did seem to lose a little juice last year.

It's just time to move on. RBs just aren't what they used to be. You can get one for a bag of peanuts these days. Kareem Hunt is still out there. So is Ezekiel Elliot.

Not happy to lose Cook either, I think he was injured last year and will bounce back. Unfortunately with another team.

Agree....depends on where he ends up, but he could explode. Some team is going to get a steal.

Dalvin did look a bit off last year but he definitely still has juice. Plus an "off" year for him was still 1,400 yards I believe. I know the odds are slim but I'd still like to see him back if the plan is to make another run for a division title. The other guys we have are just big question marks to me.
