The good ol' Lions. A year away from being a year away since, um, when did their franchise start?

Not really. 4 Superbowls to none. Vikings have one of the best regular season records overall in the NFL. Its not even close. If you want to say 'most disappointing games to end a season/playoffs?' Sure I'm down with that.

4 superbowls... I dont see any hardware to show for that effort.... roughly 50 years ago.

as long as I have been a fan,  our mantra has been " NEXT YEAR"   it doesnt get much closer to being a year away than when the fans end every damn season by saying next year.

Oh the perils of being a fan of any pro teams in Minnesota.  Always NEXT YEAR well except for maybe the Wolves.

And the only time of the season that we say, "Next year," is the offseason.

Still would rather be a Vikings fan than a Lions fan every day of the week.

For those of us old enough to remember, 87 and 91 were pretty fun times. I cant always remember what I wanted when I walk into the kitchen now, but I still remember that 15 game win streak.

I think Lions are perpetually more than a season away.  We are much more the definition of close but not really competing for a SB.
