Burnt out or leaving a sinking ship?

A case of too much too soon for a man of his age to able to be comfortable with.  A lot of moving parts in his life at the moment, if he isn't burnt out, he's certainly on the path.

He's only 36 and at the top of his craft relative to other NFL coaches...But I can see where these guys can burn out really quickly.

I was thinking about the year KOC has had with moving, new job, new babies, new team - yikes!

I feel badly for Stefanski too - he's had a brutal year.

Back to McVay -- if he's fried and burned out he needs to take some time off. These jobs pay a ton of $ but at what price can you put on proper mental health and longer life?

The thing is Al he's a hardcore red ass. All-in and burning the candle at both ends. Life happens, I don't buy into the other stuff being an issue, I think the dude is needing a 2 year sabbatical to return to some starved franchise where he is offered a shitload of money to return (remember, he's still very young). The Rams are on the precipice of oblivion for the next 5 years and he knows this. Why burn as hard as he burns to achieve very little with this franchise my guess is what he's asking himself.

Maybe both. He got success early and now he is seeing the other side

Totally agree, except about all the other things not being an issue.  Loosing a close family member, mentor perhaps.  New wife, that on it's own can be stressful, let alone her families situation.  I don't know, I just look at it through my eyes and those issues are important.

I think ego is a factor too. There is no glory when the team is trash

He and his family may only want to live fulltime in LA—according to The Herd.

Ugh. Even people that live in LA don't want to be living there.

He is a talented guy that has a lot of other options especially living in LA which contrary to those who don't live here is one of the best cities to live in.  He has had the networks recruiting him for sometime now for announcing jobs and also probably some other media and potentially film opportunities.  Why put up with the grind and day to day of the NFL when you already won a Super Bowl and you can make the same money or more with an easier schedule and workload.
