Apparently there was some disconnect between the Vikings equipment guys and the players over which cleats to use.  JJ was mentioned specifically.

I mean they were told about the field and the cleats were recommended but the individual players made their choices and ended up choosing their cleats. Dennis Ryan has been with the team since 1977. KOC said they sent messages to the players. So yeah sometimes you learn the hard way. Some players were changing cleats during the game. Oh well bet that won't happen again.

I know they practiced outside, wouldn't you want to practice in the cleats that would be best for the conditions at Lambeau?

Im guessing that is likely the disconnect,  they likely tried different shoes on the outdoor field in the cities, and found what they liked,  but those heated natural grass surfaces are different animals and can be manipulated and can change throughout a game,  the equipment staff likely made suggestions that were contrary to what the players had discovered on their own and went with their gut instead of trusting experience.

just recently, people patiently waiting to get into the medical clinic before it opens, Karen rushes past those in line to be the second one through the door.  Nothing said to her. 
but im sure her health concerns are more pressing than those who were there before her.

Yeah I get that Lambeau field gets wet and slick. I guess they fucked around and found out that Dennis Ryan knows what he is doing.
