I remember the Mac Jones lovefest here....

Jones, the most NFL-ready of all the 1st round QBs, also had the lowest upside. He went to the ideal team, who gave him a rookie's diet and didn't ask him to do much. It wasn't hard to predict a decline in year two.

NE is another team that will be looking for their QBOTF in 2023 or 2024.

I think so. Jones is one of those guys that needs everything just right. Tough to build a team around him that way. Risky.

Yeah I remember that. I remember some people being pissed we didn't pick him. Eh whatever

I remember one or two posters who were pissed we passed on Mac Jones.  I didn't see a lovefest on here for him.  On the other hand, I was in Love with Wilson who is flopping although he went to the worst situation of all the QB's.

Our Kirk contract situation really prohibited us from using high draft capital on a QB of the future two years ago.  We are locked into to Kirk through next year, so this draft is a perfect time to be proactive and look to the future.  I am no college draft guy but their seems to be a good number of QB's coming out with 3 going top 10 easily.

We should be locked to Kirk. The guy has balled for us for what 5 years now?

I would like a progression plan if a QB we really like is there in late first.  You can still let Kirk play on his contract next year and then you have options at the end of that season.  This year was/is critical for Kirk and no doubt he has played/won up to his contract this year so far.

If the opportunity is there, take a QB. Ideally, you hit on him AND Cousins settles nicely into KOC's offense and continues to play great football. I think he will. I also think, given his durability and playing style, he could be one of those QBs who plays well into his late 30s, early 40s.
