Training camp follow up
#1
I really like the big screen on the field for play review. O'Connell is everywhere and talking to everyone. I saw him with Jefferson, Cousins of course, Lynch, the OL and so on. He talked with the rookies and all the qbs. He is definitely more cerebral so I can see why he can work well with Cousins. KOC also has some type of walkie talkie (I know it's fancier with technology and all but that is the word that came to mind) so he can speak with whoever whenever.

I liked his player interactions. Cousins, Thielen and Jefferson definitely seemed enthused because there was some in depth discussion and hand motions regarding play reviews and which direction to go with the ball and route. I am liking Booth a lot and Cine is very observant and eager. There are some different drills for the running backs.

Dantzler was with the 1's. The energy from Za'Darius Smith is great. He loves starting the SKOL chant. Harrison Phillips is gritty and I can see why he is there. Hicks next to Kendricks. Wonnum and Jones II are second team. Getting used to Dalvin and Mattison with the single digits. Really like Donatell's and Phillips player dynamics. I know it's early days and a work in progress but change was needed. I am looking forward to seeing more.

Z'Darius is going to be a fan favorite...He's out-going, boisterous and full of energy - frankly what that D needs.

Edit - thx for posting @VG...It's gotta be night/day difference @ TCO vs our old Mankato days

I second the motion on Za'Darius.  Saw an offseason interview with him by I think Rich Eisen and I immediately thought "Whoa. This is new."  Even just over the phone it was like somebody opened a window and blast of fresh air blew in.

Been a fan of Z ever since he single handedly beat the Vikings in December of 2019. Didn't like the result but respected the player.

I think as we move forward in TC and preseason, fans are going to find out we have similar problems that we had last year. Bradbury is one of them. After 4 years in the NFL, you just don't make a giant leap in effectiveness, it would have happened for him by now. I think the O-line will still be maddeningly inconsistent. My hope is if we can have one major improvement, please let it be no more defensive collapses of historical proportions. I'll take that as I'm confident the O will still score points this year.

If Ingram can be starting at RG before year's end, the line should be set except for center heading into 2023. I'd take a vet signing in that department in the offseason: he doesn't have to be a world-beater, but not get his ass consistently kicked all game long like Garrett.
