CBS Sports:"The asset you get nervous about not burning it down is quarterback."

Pretty good article here with some real talk from KAM about the QB situation in the NFL in general. But, of course, look at the headline the sports media runs with, lol. So dull. Of course he isn't and nobody said he was.

At least Kwesi isn't trying to sell something that isn't there. Obviously he's not Brady or Mahomes. But realistically they weren't going to find anyone better in FA or the draft so a very smart move to keep him and try to improve the team around him.

“And while Cousins is often maligned for being unable to get the Vikings back to the promised land in February, he's still capable of putting up numbers -- even if they're not entirely the downfield kind. So, yes, Adofo-Mensah does view Cousins as a "good quarterback"

*******Cousins is one of the best downfield throwers in the league. It’s his best attribute and he’s elite at it by nearly every statistical measure.

In fact, he was top 3 QB rating on passes over 20 yards.

Just dropping some reality into the conversation.

His narrative, created by the media years ago, supersedes his actual results and impact. With some fans also. But that won't change, even if the guy wins a Super Bowl. Its too entrenched.

Yeah, the constant misinformation surrounding Cousins is almost hard to believe. You want to talk about his leadership? His immobility? His vax stance? OK. Fair play. But don't give me this bullshit about him not being a downfield thrower.

There are about a dozen stats I could post that disprove this. Here are three.

Most 30+ Yard TD Passes,Since 2015:
1. Kirk Cousins (40)2. Philip Rivers (39)3. Russell Wilson (38)4. Matt Ryan (36)t5. Tom Brady (34)t5. Derek Carr (34)t7. Aaron Rodgers (31)t7. Ben Roethlisberger (31)t9. Drew Brees (29)t9. Ryan Tannehill (29)
Most 40+ Yard TD Passes,Since 2015:
1. Kirk Cousins (32)2. Philip Rivers (30)3. Russell Wilson (28)t4. Derek Carr (26)t4. Patrick Mahomes (26)t6. Tom Brady (25)t6. Matt Ryan (25)8. Ryan Tannehill (23)t9. Dak Prescott (22)t9. Matthew Stafford (22)
Most 25+ Yard Completions,Last 5 Seasons:
1. Kirk Cousins (180)2. Tom Brady (179)3. Russell Wilson (167)4. Philip Rivers (164)5. Matt Ryan (163)

Nothing will change until the results come. He has great stats no doubt but the biggest one is wins. It's a team sport and he has done some good as well as had some boneheaded moments. Hoping the coaching elevates and the defense and OL get it together.

Are we still talking about the vax? lol smh.

His downfield ability is great. He does so better than anyone. Having Diggs and JJ have truly helped in that regard as well being both are big time downfield receivers.

I have huge concerns about his ability to perform when the big lights turn on or in prime time.

Clearly the author knows nothing about the Vikings:  "And, for his part, Adofo-Mensah explains the decision to keep the three-time Pro Bowler in the purple and white."
That be Purple and GOLD to you outsiders.
