Cousins best QB in Bears history
#1
This thing Bears/Cousins thing has been around a few weeks. Yes, Cousins best season is better than the Bears best ever season. But I'd bet a bag of chips that his WORST season as a full time starter would be among their top 10 seasons.

Interesting that the Cousins trashing extends far beyond the Minnesota state line.

Its a narrative the media started way back when he was in Washington and it has stuck. It makes no sense.

It'll be interesting to see what (if anything) this staff can do to improve KC's total game...

My #1 biggest hope for the 2022 season— aside from a Super Bowl— is to get a definitive answer on Cousins. Some would say we’ve already gotten that answer one way or the other, but if the new regime felt that way Kirk would either be gone or on a longer deal.

This year, in the new offense, I just hope he plays amazing and is the cemented guy going forward OR it’s clear that the Vikings need to look elsewhere. The gray area, middle of the pack stuff we’ve had during his time here grows wearisome, considering expectations.

Yep, agree completely. I said the exact same thing to a friend just the other day. Vikings need a definitive answer this year.

Ideally, Cousins plays great in this new offense, the Vikings sign him long term and use their '23 1st on a WR. 2nd best outcome is Cousins playing poorly and they draft a QB in the 1st. Anything in between has the potential to prolong mediocrity indefinitely.

Couldn't have said it much better. One way or another we need to find out if he's the longterm guy or needs to be replaced. I'm hoping KOC is the right guy to help determine that.

No doubt that KC stats line when injected into any team's history would produce some great paper records for almost every team.  Individual stats are great and are a very good indicator especially when produced over time.  The key, especially with QB stats, is the correlation of stats to team wins.  We all know that it is a team game but we also all know that the QB is also the most important position.

Sure you can say 2 seasons ago was not on the QB because of A,B, and C.
You can then say that 3 seasons ago was also not on the QB because of D and E.
Excuses are endless year to year but 10 years????

But when you have 10 seasons of stats and team wins to correlate and you get a 59-59-2 regular season w/l record and a 1-2 playoff record I think one can see the trend.  Maybe Kirk is cursed to be a stat machine on very average teams that produce very average team w/l records or maybe he is a big part of the reason at the most important position in sports.

Yes, this year many should get their answer as to Kirk.

I got mine answer last year and really wanted to move on from Kirk with a new regime this offseason.  Obviously that didn't happen...so GO KIRK - I am a Viking fan first and foremost!

I have always been a Cousins believer and I think he's going to excel in KOC's offense.

If being a Cousins believer means you acknowledge his flaws but think he's among the 15 or so QBs in the NFL capable of winning a Super Bowl, then I'm a believer too.
