OT: The Batman

Meh. Had some expectations and it was very mediocre to unsatisfactory. Watched it on HBO Max....glad I didn't go the movie theater. Well-acted but the story was thin.

The DC movies just don't translate unfortunately. The writing and acting usually suck. I did love the Christopher Nolan series. I am going to watch this but I was never going to the theater for it. It sucks because DC has so many great characters.

I saw it in theaters, really liked it! It’s definitely dark in a way that makes me kind of sad. Like my kid is running around in Batman pajamas but I won’t be showing him this movie anytime in the next decade plus. But for adult dorks like me I thought it was good.

For context, I only see the biggest Marvel movies (Avengers, Spider-Mans) and mostly ignore the rest. I’ve either ignored or disliked most of thr DC movies post-Nolan Batmans too.

But this one was cool!

I didn't have a problem with it.  Watched it on HBO so its not like we paid theater bucks to see it.

I loved it. Thought the pacing and story were excellent, and the acting was pretty good too. I saw it at the theater and at home, and with it being 3 hours long watching at home is a much better choice.

Much better than the garbage DC movies usually turn out to be.

and long.  It felt long -- when you think about the time passing, that is not a good sign.

Personally Im tired of the “superhero” movies.

Dr. Strange?
Ant Man?
Underdog?

Whats next?
The Ambiguously Gay Duo from SNL?

Just stop already

Yep. I thought it MIGHT be good because they went to Batman's detective roots. He's named the world's greatest detective, some people don't realize that. Batman is best at his darkest. I also looked at the clock several times....not good.
