Unreal at the Kentucky Derby. For those that don't follow horse racing at all, this was a monumental upset. He got in only because of a late scratch. Completely awesome. Ran like he was mad at the ground.

My favorite derby yet.  Watching that horse was just plain fun.  The over head view of the path to the front for that horse was amazing.

He got in with 30 seconds remaining on the deadline. 30 seconds. He very easily could have missed it. The sport is really messy. Scandal-ridden. Shady, quite honestly. This win by such a long shot really gives the sport a huge lift. At least potentially. Its actually a brutal sport for the horses, incredibly hard on them to run like that. Its a sport where you don't want to see behind the curtain. What jockeys have to do to maintain weight is insane. They usually die young.

Wow, I don't pay attention to horse racing, but that was fun. Given his position, kept wondering how in hell is he going to win this....

The team had already given up,  stable security was told to go home,  the trainer had called his family and told them to stay home,  for all practical purposes they were gone,  and then they got the call that made history.  That will make an interesting movie some day.

Yeah, that view showed how crazy his path through the pack was.  Absolutely enjoyed that run.

watch him have to battle through the pack, surge to the rail and then get taken off the stride before lining out for a tremendous finish.

Wife is HOT about this. The handler (not the jockey) who stops the horses. Gets them to the winner circle and keeps them from hurting the public was fired because he wacked the stallion after it bite the ever loving crap out of him.

Hes well known in the industry for being professional and good at his job.

I guess these horses arent taught much of anything other then forward as fast as you can. Stopping, loading in the chute, having manners etc is all entirely optional on these horses because tgey spend 100% of the training time/energy on fast/forward.

The infamous handler in the video is Greg Blasi, brother to another notorious asshole in the sport, Scott Blasi "Fuck these horses . .  these cocksuckers, there's always something wrong with em". "You could not believe how many horses they hurt/kill, before they even get to the race track" 2013 internal investigation.

Disgusting treatment, should tell you all you need to know about the sport.  Love them when they win for you, abuse them when they don't.  Thousands of horses die on American racetracks every year.  These are 2-3 year old horses, bones not truly formed yet (approximately 5-6 years).  Chaotic scene, the horse does exactly what you want it do and you beat it in public.

The race, the excuse to get wasted, the clothing, all gross, all a joke.  Thee best horses do not get the best treatment, they get abused, injected, beat, superglued, drugged for nothing but profit in a dying sport.  9 horses yesterday were injured or killed JUST YESTERDAY ALONE across tracks in the US.  Fucking stupid sport for clowns and degenerates.
