Who wouldn't want a Hilltopper on their team?

Bailey Zappe

Actually, somebody did bring this guy up about a month ago. Can't remember who.

He has been discussed. Very productive in college but i've read multiple times that he doesn't have great arm strength and has a slower release. In watching his highlights I thought the release looked fine, but his offense definitely ran a lot of quick throw routes.

If the Vikes want to draft a QB early next year then drafting him would be a head scratcher considering we just drafted Mond and Zappe is likely to go 4th round or earlier

How about QB 6'7 - 255lb Cole Kelley from Southeastern Louisiana.  Haven't heard anyone mention him.

PASADENA, Calif. -- Behind a comeback effort led by Southeastern Louisiana quarterback Cole Kelley, the National team rallied from a 14-point deficit to defeat the American team, 25-24, on Saturday in the 10th annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. The all-star game featured more than 100 prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft and a matchup between former NFL head coaches Marvin Lewis (National) and Jeff Fisher (American) at the Rose Bowl. Here are five takeaways from the game.
1) Kelley steps up after stepping in. After watching the National squad's first two drives end via an interception and a punt, Kelley stepped in to spark the offense on his way to earning game MVP honors. He completed 9-of-13 passes for 68 yards during a 19-play drive that ate up 9:04 of game time and ended with a field goal heading into halftime. Following a fumble recovery by the National team late in the third quarter, Kelley found Arkansas tight end Blake Kern on a completion that turned into a 47-yard score. In the fourth quarter, with his team down by seven, Kelley orchestrated a seven-play, 75-yard drive that was capped off by Coastal Carolina RB Shermari Jones' five-yard touchdown trudge. Lewis elected to go for two and Kelley, looking as comfortable as he had all night, found Indiana TE Peyton Hendershot for what turned out to be the game-winning points. Kelley's final stat line read 12-of-17 for 150 yards and a score.

If we took a later round flyer on a quarterback...this would be my guy.

I was intrigued by him early in the evaluation process. But he couldn't hang with the big boys at the Senior Bowl. I see him as a career back-up & there's nothing wrong with that. Could have a nice 10 year career.

If we don't draft a QB with more upside than Mond, then we're just wasting a draft pick. Willis, Pickett & Corral are the only QBs in this draft that have more upside than Mond. I wouldn't draft any of them at #12 & they're all likely to be gone by #46. I agree with the majority that 2023 is the draft to select our QBOTF.

Sam Howell definitely has more upside too. I actually like Howell more than Corral as Howell was on a god awful team this year because all of his weapons left after the 2020-2021 season (Dyami Brown, Javonte Williams, Michael Carter, and Dazz Newsome). North Carolina also had one of the worst OL's in the conference so he was constantly facing pressure.

Well this one was mentioned as a day 3 WR..Deven Tompkins. Somebody posted about him and included his highlights on YouTube. I clicked and watched. He’s 5’7” and weighs 170 lbs.  but clearly no one has told him that. The kid is amazing and the attitude is so infectious that I was laughing throughout. He is incredibly fun to watch. I hope he hooks on somewhere ( I hope it’s us!) because you can’t help but love this guy.
