As a diabetic I just can’t even contain the anger.

The House on Thursday passed a bill capping the monthly cost of insulin at $35 for insured patients, part of an election-year push by Democrats for price curbs on prescription drugs at a time of rising inflation.
Experts say the legislation, which passed 232-193, would provide significant relief for privately insured patients with skimpier plans and for Medicare enrollees facing rising out-of-pocket costs for their insulin. Some could save hundreds of dollars annually, and all insured patients would get the benefit of predictable monthly costs for insulin. The bill would not help the uninsured.
Is this thing on?
Aren't they all "evil" since no one supported reducing insulin costs for the uninsured?
Dont get me started on health care in this country.
Pharma, Physicians, Insurance and bureaucrats.....
”We cant let folks health get in the way of profit”
Fellow teacher friend of mine Kidneys were failing, went on the registry, was told there was a three year “waiting list”. Too bad his prognosis was six months to live. Anyway, he goes on the list, in the meantime finds out the surgery would cost in excess of like $200k.
He flew to India, they matched him with a donor who was paid for one of his kidneys, between the donor cost, flights, surgery, meds, post-operative care was something like $30 - $40 k.
people shouldnt have to decide between their life and their families inheritance.

Yup. And wonder if that includes Biden? Didn't he end Trumps cost reduction on insulin?
Funny how the talking points always line up with the preconceive political beliefs.

That's not fair. Facts have a WELL-known liberal bias.

Funny how healthcare and insurance get confused. To me healthcare is as important as police protection. In Countries that I visit, they are amused & amazed at how we do things here, guns protect you from everything except getting sick.

And none of the evil bastards did anything about costs to the 1000s of other drugs. In fact you could make a decent argument that by cutting insulin cost to customer those fuckers at big pharma will just add their desired profit requirements onto all of us who dont take insulin.
My godmother is on a $10k/mo pill for pulmonary hypertension. With poor people assistance its all the way down to $1k/mo.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy in my mid 20s. The standard drug for that is and was keppra. It was $1k/mo with insurance. I was pill cutting as a mid 20s new father. Thank god I’m now on an old drug that will blow my kidneys/liver up in 2-3 decades.
So yeah, fuck the 193 and while youre at it, fuck the 232 as well. Then round up the 10 abstentions and give them the same treatment.

So he froze it so it didn't happen. Question is, what happened to the cost of insulin? Not some biases factcheck wordsalad.
