Anyone go to the Charger game?

Impressions of the stadium? Much purple there today?

My brother-in-law went but I was strolling on the beach.  I didn't watch the game until the evening.

My two sons went. There was alot of purple there.

Yeah, you could see it on the telly. It wasn't just that there was a lot of purple. I would say purple outnumbered light blue. Pro-Viking crowd noise supported that.

Listening to Leber on Kfan,  playing before a hostile crowd is nothing new for the Chargers.   He said even in San Diego they would often see more opposing fans in the stands than their own.  Said it was pretty common to get a lot of boos as the ran onto their own field,  probably explains why they are not there anymore.

San Diego just isn't a NFL market (not for size, but popularity). The team had a deal with the city for many years where they'd buy up unpurchased tickets to guarantee no local blackouts. It ended up getting pretty expensive for the city for home games and taxpayers complained. Hell, Los Angeles, the 2nd largest city in the country was without a NFL team for how long? 17 years? People that live in SoCal do OTHER things than sit at home or go to the stadium and watch football.
