Second hardest schedule to date. Reason for optimism?
#1
We've played the second toughest schedule in the league so far and should be 3-1 if two plays go our way. However, there are no gimmes the rest of the way so we need to ramp up the urgency if the season is to be salvaged. I've been a Zimmer supporter, but he's got to get this team firing on all cylinders and now.

I heard it said today,  anything less than a 5-1 division record likely keeps us out of the playoffs... seems reasonable considering our division is fairly weak and we may need to win the division to get into the playoffs with as strong as the NFC west looks.

I think we can still be optomistic.  Problem is, good teams find ways to win close games. We havent done that, quite the opposite actually.

We can be good, perhaps REALLY good. I hope it happens but things will have to change fast and our recent history says it wont happen.

Its an interesting statistic - the difficulty of games that is.

I dont know, I feel like I've been down this road before. This road called mediocrity.

They'll win a difficult game or 2, usually beat the weaker teams. Split with GB/Bears.

I sure dont sense any magic this year though. Not yet.

They really needed to get lucky and win one of the first 2.

Yawn...

Best 1 -3 team in history.

The parade is scheduled for Monday 10/11 at whatever time is the worst for you.  Balloons (if we have helium), floats, creepy clowns, covid 19 tents

time to celebrate, come on!

I've been listening to these rationalizations for 20 years or more.   Prior to social media you rarely ever heard this stuff, it wouldn't fly.  You are/were what your record says you are/were as Bill Parcells would say.

But nowadays social media functions as a sort of perpetual b.s. factory where every imagined possible reality is aired out for it's 15 seconds of fame over and over.    The possible is continually conflated with the probable to make things that aren't seem like they are.   Is it possible this is a reeeallly good team that will go on a tear and make the rest of the league tremble before it's might?  Sure.  Is it probable?  Not in the least.

I feel like they have been on the mediocrity road since 2010, other than a brief spurt in 2017. Getting very malaise. Gave up my season tickets right after the 2019 season as it will take a regime change to get me excited again.

"you are what your record says you are"

-- Bill Parcells
-- Mike Zimmer,  BP acolyte, should not disagree

We're 1-3.
We're now in the fall of our season of discontent.

We need 6 stacked W's.  Tall order.

Im not pointing fingers,  but rationalizing 1-3 is a totally cheese head thing to do.  What's next,  we going to talk about our 1 nfl championship,  or 4 superbowl appearances?

We have been beat down so many times we are conditioned to try and make silk purses from sows ears pretty much every season,  its become our thing and it's really sad way to be.
