Hadn't really thought about this side of it...but imagine a scenario where the Vikings do forfeit a game, crushing hopes of a playoff birth, forcing all the players who've made personal sacrifices for the team for months...just to make another one: their paycheck. What will Kirk or Adam or whoever say then? "It is what it is?"

I really don’t know if a team can recover from a forfeit. If I’ve been vaccinated and we’ve got guys that haven’t been and then we’ve got to forfeit, I’m losing a big check — and they are big checks now. They aren’t like when I played; maybe a game check was 2,500 bucks.
Now I’m talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars that most guys are making per game. And so that’s going to have an effect on the team and the outcome of the season. I really believe that.

That's the part that hasn't been discussed much...  Whether or not you agree with the NFL protocols, this is a very real issue for teams with a larger percentage of unvaccinated players on their team.

Everything is "fine" right now and vaccinated players (at least publicly) seem supportive of their teammates decisions.  But the Vikings appear to have a larger percentage of players that remain unvaccinated... It's not just Cousins.  When personal decisions/choices start affecting other people's money, it will be extremely tough for a team to remain cohesive.  And if you don't have everyone (players and coaches) all fully invested in each other and the team, you ain't winning a Super Bowl, let alone winning a bunch of games.

It is what it is but it still sucks. That's why I am cautiously optimistic.

It is what it is.

Which is why I am waiting for the football & covid gods to smite this team and crush its fan-base.

ITs the Vikings way.

Itd be our luck that we’d go 19-0 and forfeit the super bowl wouldnt it?

there is zero percent chance they'd forfeit a super bowl.  The NFL is about making money, and they'd sacrifice all their morals to do so.

Does this assume the vaccine doesn't work and the vaccinated players get sick or just the unvaccinated ones?

Keep it simple and just go with the highest probability, the weak links.
