Predict week 1 starters

1 is tough...  I didn't see Denver play this week so I don't know if Teddy or Lock elevated themselves after a pretty even PS week 1.

Jimmy G will start for SF until Lance is ready.  I don't think he's there yet, despite some flashes.

I think Jameis is the better passer despite being a career turnover machine.  I think he's the starter, but Hill will still get work as an all-around threat.

Dalton.  Nagy has been firm about that and Fields isn't ready to start despite getting way too much praise for doing something against guys who won't even be on a 53 man roster in a few weeks.

I would lean Cam, but don't be surprised if Mac Jones is the starter Week 1.  He's actually looked the part and there have been a ton of positive reports about him coming out of camp.

1. Lock. We know what Teddy can do. Lock with a far higher ceiling. That being said, Teddy is in by week 5.

2. Jimmy G, until he gets hurt and never sees the field again.

3. Fuck the Saints.

4. The Red Rifle until October

5. Cam, until he has to throw a 30 yarder

1. I think Teddy's got this in the bag after Saturday's game. A team like that, with a good defense, a good line and some really nice weapons, will benefit much more from an efficient QB than one prone to mistakes, regardless of upside.

2. Jimmy G. But I'd bet we see Lance in certain situations.

3. Winston with Hill playing the same role he has in the past.

4. Dalton. Sounds like the Bears are being smart about it. But after some losses, the temptation to put in Fields will be strong.

5. Cam for now, but Jones takes over at some point this year.

Pats’ QB Cam Newton out five days due to COVID protocols. Pats: “Due to a misunderstanding about tests conducted away from NFL facilities, and as required by the NFL-NFLPA protocols, Cam will be subject to the five-day entry cadence process before returning to the facility..."

I'm going to change one prediction

Taysom Hill was never going to start. He's a gimmick.

And agree with other posters about Lock: he might start, but it won't be for long. Too inconsistent. Teddy can keep things steady.

#Bears coach Matt Nagy tells reporters that QB Justin Fields will start in their final preseason game and Andy Dalton will sit — because he’s the Week 1 starter.

& he has the phony baloney contract to prove it:  Wink B)

Saints Give Taysom Hill $140 Million Extension in Salary Cap Maneuver
The Saints signed quarterback Taysom Hill to a four-year, $140 million contract extension on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It's unlikely Hill sees anywhere close to the reported $140 million on his new deal. All four years of Hill's extension are voidable, allowing the Saints to release Hill or restructure his contract once again without any penalty in the salary cap. The move will save New Orleans $7.5 million this season as the team faces a salary-cap crunch, per Schefter.

Lock isn't very good, but Teddy is better than most people think he is. The way he maneuvered in the pocket and fired dimes to his receivers reminded me of his 2016 preseason.

Write it down. Teddy finishes the year as a top half QB.
