Happens every year, FanNation's hopes jump with drafting a QB
#1
Reading all the Monday morning draft stories and the media is on the hype train for all the 1st round QBs drafted. Fans are elated. Kudos being given to all the front offices, wins being handed out already, and the Lollipop and Butterfly train has left the station chock full. Its what makes the NFL such a fan and ratings powerhouse, the importance of the Draft and then how each weekend is an event that millions of fans plan around every Sunday during the season. There's nothing like it on the sports landscape, how the drama builds every week until kickoff.

Peaking behind the curtain you'll see a litany of draft busts, ne'er-do-wells and franchises set back years by bad decisions. Some of these guys picked in round 1 (QBs) are not going to pan out. Chicago in particular has wasted prime years with a stellar defense with the likes of Mitch Trubisky (and what they traded in compensation to get him) and now Justin Fields. Fields seems like a good kid, but I'll have to root against him as a Bear. IMO, he's a question mark.

Only thing better than the draft (besides you know what) is the draft when there aint no damn Pandemic. Fans in the stands at the draft is a hoot.

Lets get back to that next...

Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert were like ceiling-level good last year for rookie QBs, and both their teams still pretty much stunk hah. Year 2 is when you start to worry.

It will be fun to watch this QB class and see who rises and falls in the coming years...

If I had to make a prediction after seeing where these guys landed...

Lawrence and Lance will put their teams back on the map as perennial playoff teams before their rookie contracts are up...

Wilson will be stuck in Matthew Stafford land...  good QB stuck in a bad organization.

Fields will be a bust...  the Bears will still be looking for their franchise guy.

Mac Jones makes Patriots fans forget about the Cam Newton years and ends up being the 3rd best QB from this draft class in the media's eyes.
