Hmmm, I thought we had two good ones in Pierce and Tomlinson...  Wonder if this means Pierce will not be joining the team?

I would guess this would be more of a depth signing, kind of like Tom Johnson where Geno would be a pass rush specialist more than an every down player.

Yah, Tomlinson sliding to NT and Geno coming in as 3 on pass downs.

I think thats the perfect scenario for him at this stage of career...Question is will the $ he want afford them to use him that way? Especially after the Dalvin signing...

Considering the defensive tackle class in this draft is not highly thought of, this would not be such a bad move ...

if they did not need a safety opposite Smith.

Maybe they can do both?

I think this safety class is sneaky deep. I would hope they are considering a safety or two in the draft, depending on which guys fall of course

I love the idea of bringing in Atkins for a Tom Johnson type role. I'd still prefer to draft a young interior pass rusher, but if they are really not sold on the DT class, then it lets them use more draft capital to address needs like OL and DE, even if it kicks the interior pass rush need down the road.
