You're QB1 in the Factory Of Sadness...
DeShone Kizer - QB - Browns
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, it's a "done deal" that Browns second-round QB DeShone Kizer will start Week 1 against the Steelers.
Coach Hue Jackson stopped short of officially anointing Kizer in his post-game remarks, but it's pretty evident which way he's leaning. "I feel comfortable with him," said Jackson of Kizer. "He has the right feel for me and for what I'm looking for." Kizer wasn't great in Saturday's win over Tampa Bay, completing just 6-of-18 passes for 93 yards and an interception. But he's been Cleveland's best quarterback throughout the summer and deserves to lead the rebuilding Browns in 2017. Cabot also hinted that Jackson could make a surprise move by promoting Kevin Hogan to No. 2 on Cleveland's QB depth chart.Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer Aug 27 - 8:46 AM
Steelers D a tasty week 1 play...
Trip to Disneyland?
1st game against Steelers huh? Tough draw for a rook qb. GL to him and them.
We certainly know what a QB drought looks, feels and smells like. I feel for em.
I watched some of his play and his WR's had a couple drops otherwise his stats would look better. I thought he looked pretty good for a rookie. The Browns are going to be an improved team with all that infusion of talent in the draft and they have what looks to be an very good veteran OL.
Dak Prescott has gotten everyone into the 'why not us too' arena. Nobody is going to confuse Cleveland's offensive line with Dallas's. If the Cowboys were so smart, why did they try EVERYTHING to get Paxton Lynch last year? He can't even beat out Simeon. Remember Jerrah's sad hound dog face when they had to 'settle' for Prescott?
Most times its just dumb luck hitting on a QB. And Kizer will find out the regular season is much different then preseason. But having said that, Cleveland has to give it a shot with him.

Truer words never spoken about that position - but any GM or coach who hits on a QB will never admit it and accept all the acclaim given to them. I would love to see Bill Bellichick write an autobiography titled, "I lucked into drafting Tom Brady" - but doubt it will happen.

I agree with everything you say here, except for your comment about the Browns offensive line. They probably have the 2nd best line in football.
Deshone Mixer? Is that a new nickname? I kid. I wish him well.
Oh for Pete's sake...love autocorrelation...

Really? I guess I didn't realize that.

Yeah, I'd kill for that line. Joe Thomas, Bitonio, Tretter and Zeitler are all Pro Bowl or close to it players. And I loved Shon Coleman coming out. He's young, but he's a big, talented player at RT. And he's competing with Cameron Erving, a former 1st round draft pick. The Browns might suck, but it ain't their line holding them back.
Btw, PFF ranks them #2.
