Pierce???
#1
Question...?  We know Pierce has opted out probably for the season.  But, can he opt back in at anytime or is he done for this year?

I believe he is done for the year. I don't think he can come back even if he changed his mind. Not 100% on that however.

Once you opt out, you are out for the year

It sucks, but he did what he had to do. Had he not opted out, our D would be so much better with that juggernaut in the middle.

Yep, I'm thrilled with our DE situation but run defense up the middle is a giant question mark. Hope some guys are ready to step up.
We'll know very soon. GB had a solid run game last year.

If Pierce doesn't opt out we don't trade for the "not even going to attempt to spell his name guy" from Jacksonville.  So we would have been weak at either DE or DT.

Are you saying this because of salary cap reasons? Or because you don't think RS would have done it?
Honestly asking because I was under the impression we still paid Pierce a lot of money for this season, even though he opted out. But I might be wrong on that.

It's a bummer but he had to take care of his health.

Players who opt out receive a stipend of $150K and that's all the team is charged against the cap for this season. So Pierce opting out did free up cap space. IDK if that is what allowed the Ngakoue trade to proceed, maybe so.
