Packers sign Love to guaranteed rookie contract
#1
The Packers signed 26th-overall pick Jordan Love, the team announced Wednesday. Second-round pick A.J. Dillon also signed earlier Wednesday.
In a demonstration of the Packers' confidence in Love's future with the team, Green Bay signed him to a fully guaranteed four-year, $12,383,470 contract with a signing bonus of $6,566,160, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. It's the first time the No. 26 pick has received a fully guaranteed deal under the current rookie contract system, Garafolo added.

Deciding to take a swing, I think Green Bay sees where the NFL QB position is going and its guys like Love. He won't be rushed. It will be interesting. Meanwhile, in Minnesota, Sean Mannion and nothing in the pipeline awaits a Kirk Cousins injury/Father Time. I'd like to believe Nate Stanley has a longshot chance but that's just wishful thinking on my part: a 7th rounder isn't anyone's heir apparent. He's a more athletic kid than his college career has shown.

I have no idea if Love will pan out, but part of me respects the effort.

I like the way GB attacks the most important position. I have a feeling this Love deal won't be good for the Vikings.

For how good Rick has been in the draft he has done and continues to do an abysmal job with the QB position.

No doubt there have been too many swings and misses, but lets give some credit where its due too...

Bridgewater could have been a great pick if his leg didn't fall off in practice.

Bradford? Broken body, but what an arm. At the time? Given the circumstances? I didn't hate the move, I applauded it.

KC? I'd argue he's the best since Favre and a chance to be up there with the minimal # of Viking greats at the position.
