If he's still under contract: trade him.  He's talented and special... but we've had talented and special RBs before.  Mattis is pretty good in his own right... and we can get other, not-quite-as-good RBs in the draft and FA scrap heap.  He's not worth it.

Didnt the new CBA have language that stopped holdouts or made them much less intriguing to the players?

Only when they are under contract and I believe also not on a rookie deal which Cook is.  But I'm struggling to verify this.  It's what I heard at the time they agreed on it

Depends what "reasonable" is.  I'm feeling good at keeping him at $8.5M.  Anything above $10M I'm repulsed about.
