What fucking con artists you and CNN are.

When he stopped travel - he was a xenophobe.  And as the NYS thread shows - the fucking left played politics and caused the NY spread.

1/21:  CDC “The current risk from this virus to the general public is low” and “for a family sitting around the dinner table tonight this is not something that they generally need to worry about.”

1/26:“While this is a serious public health threat,CDC continues to believe immediate risk to U.S. general public is low at this time. For general public, no additional precautions are recommended at this time beyond simple daily precautions that everyone should always take.”

1/27:  “However, currently in the U.S., this virus is not spreading in the community.  For that reason, we continue to believe that the immediate health risk from the new virus to the general American public is low currently.”

1/30:  “I want to echo the statements that Dr. Redfield has already shared and emphasize that the risk to the general public in Illinois remains low.  This person-to-person spread was between two very close contacts, a wife and husband.” Virus is not spreading widely across  community.  At this time, we are not recommending people in general public to take additional precautions, such as canceling activities or avoiding going out.  Again, this is not spreading widely in communities, and general public is believed to be at low risk."

1/31:  Trump China ban

2/5:  “In general you bring up an important point which is the current risk to the American public is low, but as we project outward with the potential for this to be a much longer situation.”

2/5:  Trump acquitted in Senate in impeachment hoax
3/8:  GovWhitmer and Detroit Mayor Duggan (dems) out and about glad-handing in the now hot-spot of Detroit for JoeBiden campaign.

Yup, think about that.

Agreed, head out of where the sun don't shine...Partially anyways.

Visions of Queens, Elmhurst, facts from CDC, the threat of a legacy that may have been millions of Americans dead.

All led to yesterdays very sobering presser

So he's admitting he waited too long. Of course, with excuses, because that's all he ever has. And the Cult of Trump beats on.

Trump Derangement Syndrome continues strongly as evidenced by Sticky's post.  Rather bizarre to say that the impeachment proceedings would not be distracting.  Someone else needs to pull their head out.

So when Trump was ahead of the democratic agenda and taking steps to control the spread of the disease he is wrong,  when he tries to take a chin up approach he is wrong... WTF could he have done that would have made any of you not point the finger at him... and where is the disdain for those that were even more egregious in their handling of the matter?  come on people,  quit trying to use this as a reason to justify your hatred towards the man.

he is taking the numbers out of context no doubt,   but what he is saying is true and needs to be said.  People need to remember that this isnt the fucking zombie apocalypse,  the hording and other extreme shit we have seen is causing more panic than what this virus really deserves.   there are sound safety measures to be taken for sure,  but we will get through this and we will not be the shell of our former selves that some in the media want to try and sell.

with each passing day more people get infected, and yes some will die and that will be a tragedy,  but with each new infection there will be many many more that will survive and develop immunity to the virus and with each additional immune person it means that the next round and each additional round of the virus will affect less people and thats how it will be until a antivirus is developed or this thing is nothing more than a common cold to human beings.

scary shit for sure,  but I dont understand the need that everybody has to tie blame of a global pandemic to one individual,  who by some,  even his political opposition,  has been doing an OK job of handling it.  could he do better,  sure,  but those that want to hang on he could have done better... do you hold your own politicians up to the same standards?  I didnt think so.

The Social-Distancing Culture War Has Begun
Across the country, social distancing is morphing from a public-health to political act. The consequences could be disastrous.

For Geoff Frost, the first sign of the coronavirus culture war came last weekend on the golf course. His country club, located in an affluent suburb of Atlanta, had recently introduced a slew of new policies to encourage social distancing. The communal water jugs were gone, the restaurant was closed, and golfers had been asked to limit themselves to one person per cart. Frost, a 43-year-old Democrat, told me the club’s mix of younger liberals and older conservatives had always gotten along just fine—but the guidelines were proving divisive.
At the driving range, while Frost and his like-minded friends slathered on hand sanitizer and kept six feet apart, the white-haired Republicans seemed to delight in breaking the new rules. They made a show of shaking hands, and complained loudly about the “stupid hoax” being propagated by virus alarmists. When their tee times were up, they piled defiantly into golf carts, shoulder to shoulder, and sped off toward the first hole.
Frost felt conflicted. He wanted to encourage the men, some of whom he’d known for years, to be more careful. “I care about their well-being,” he told me. “But it’s a tough call, just personally, because it’s become a political thing.”
