Reiff has been barely serviceable...We've had worse man the position.

More often than not, they've struggled with LT since Kalil's 2nd year. Frustrating.

I thought this was interesting and sobering

Lastly, a deal could also be delayed due to coronavirus-related issues. The NFL has ordered all team facilities shut down, which includes free-agent visits and physicals by team doctors. Given Williams’ injury issues in recent years, along with the fact that he didn’t play last year, the Vikings may want their own doctors perform a physical exam. It can be done by third-party doctors, however, if that would be acceptable for the Vikings.

So Reiff and a 3rd to get this done?

the team is still missing two guards. Maybe Klein comes back, but we still need a LG doesnt protect like he is standing there with his dick in his hand

Agree, we desperately need interior (G) lineman - two and bring back Klien as a backup.  He is better then Elflein who is easily the weakest link on the line.  I was so high on Elf his first year at Center but he has never rebounded from injuries, sucks Sad

As far as Reiff, I think he has been serviceable with the Vikes and IMO was never the weak link on this OL.

I would do it for Reiff and a 3rd. Vikings may want to move Reiff inside to left guard, but he would be way overpaid there. So I tend to think moving Reiff and his money is the only way we could afford Williams' money.

What's more, if you take tackle off of the list of draft needs, you can draft a pretty damn good IOL. Cesar Ruiz between Williams and Bradberry would be pretty damn awesome.

With Hill signed, Williams is more palatable as he'll probably get 3 starts...

What's your beef with Williams? Injuries? Yeah, he hasn't played a full season since 2013. However, he's played most games of each season since. 13, 10, 12, 15 games...that sort of thing. So we're not talking about anything debilitating. That's probably a few more missed games than most LTs, but even Reiff hasn't played 16 games in his last 4 seasons.

And, just for the hell of it, I looked up Tyron Smith. He's missed 3 games in each of the last 4 seasons.

completely agree. Reiff has overall been a good signing. hes had some great periods here.  I would love to slide him inside to keep his strength vs less mobility.

same with elf, had really high hopes after year 1, was pulling for him last year.  now i dont want to see it again

And zero last year...I'm not sure Rick trades for a guy on the wrong side of 30, looking for a payday, with a pretty consistent injury history...

If I can get a LG next to Reiff who isn't a gapping sack of shit, say Josh Jones redshirting there as prep to take over LT in 2021, grab another IOL with the 3rd we'd give up, I think our long term picture is better...
