Sources say Anthony Harris, who got franchise tag of $11.441 million by #Vikings, really wants security of a long-term deal. He played on 1-year restricted FA deal last year. He'd love to stay in Minnesota on long-term deal & buy a house, etc. He wants a commitment from some team

so give it to him,  but he needs to make it work cap wise as well.  Will power is great,  but you cant take it to the bank.

My sentiments exactly.  As one of the best ball-hawks I've seen wearing purple over the last decade, he needs to get paid...commensurate with his position and the current cap situation.  If he's jiggy with that, write him the check.

Agreed. Pay the man, he’s earned it. He might be the best in the league at his position. He’s definitely top 5 and he means wins for the team and stability on the back end.

Harris has more than earned it.  doesnt mean however we have the resources to pay him and the rest of our stars. 

Z needs to earn his general stars this year and make a middling talent a playoff  team

I'm going with "Don't pay him" long term.  Dude's a stud, but we can't spend so much on two safeties, and I trust Zimmer to get good enough performance out of a cheaper option.  I do think the one year on the tag sounds like a pretty good option though as it gives us a one year cushion with all our D changes.

Hmm... if the money was equal, who do you choose:

Dalvin Cook or Anthony Harris?
Contract: 4 years- $8.5M/yr for each.
That deal would make Harris the 15th highest paid S, or Dalvin the 5th highest paid RB. Maybe a bit low for Harris but humor me.

Harris ain't signing for the 15th highest salary for his position on a long term deal...

I would sign Dalvin for that, but that isn't happening either.
