#9 from Quentin Tarantino...
We streamed it last night, one of my least favorites from him.
Margot Robbie is absolutely gorgeous portraying Sharon Tate though.
He seems to be focused on rewriting history with this movie and Inglorious Basterds. Kind of an odd thing but I thought the movie was decent.
damn shame. I thought it was clever, a fairytale positive spin of a grim story.
Pitt and Leo were great and goddamn there was some eye candy in this flick
In my eyes it was better than the Hateful Eight, KB Vol 2, and Django
It's easy to be a sideline critic of course, but I agree it's my least favorite. And the "fixes" would have been so simple.
I think this easily could've been pretty good if he'd have cut it down by 30 minutes. Tarantino is a genius, but like most, he falls into the ego trap. His dialogue he writes is brilliant but... less is more sometimes. I saw it months ago, but a scene I remember was with Leo and the little girl on the porch in the Western town. That dragged on, wasn't necessary to the plot, wasn't interesting/funny... Cutting out "the fat" would bump the rating up quite a bit.
The plot itself wasn't bad. I actually enjoy a movie that wanders and focuses on characters as long as their stories are interesting. I didn't care about any of them really. This one just missed the mark for me.
Margot Robbie is absolutely gorgeous.

No other director is like this with me, but I either love his movies or despise them. On the love side are Basterds, Django and Jackie Brown. On the hate side, pretty much everything else, but especially Hateful Eight (had to turn that one off) and the Kill Bills.
Loved this movie and I've been meaning to redbox it and re-watch it. So much fun, I thought. Great acting by everyone and a breezy watch for me. Probably my favorite movie of the year actually, or close.
Pulp Fiction is my all time favorite Tarentino movie. Hell, one of my top 5 from anyone of all time.
Sounds like the only thing we'll agree on regarding Tarentino movies is Margot Robbie...
Or Maybe Uma???
Tarantino Says ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’ Is ‘Definitely in the Cards’ but Would Be Years Away"I have an idea now that could be interesting," Tarantino tells Andy Cohen about a third installment of his beloved "Kill Bill" franchise. Is “ Kill Bill Vol. 3” going to be the last feature film Quentin Tarantino directs? The filmmaker recently joined Andy Cohen for a radio interview and confirmed a third installment in the Uma Thurman-led franchise is “definitely in the cards.” Tarantino said in July he was still in talks with Thurman about the project and added, “If any of my movies were going to spring from my other movies, it would be a third ‘Kill Bill.’” But Tarantino sounded even more confident about “Kill Bill Vol. 3” during his interview with Andy Cohen.
“I just had dinner with Uma Thurman last night,” Tarantino told Cohen. “We were at a really cool Japanese restaurant. I do have an idea of what I would do with [‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’]. That was the whole thing, conquering the concept. What has happened to The Bride since then? And what do I want to do?”

Watched this last night with my kids. I said above I either love QT's movies or hate them. This one's definitely on the love list. I'd heard someone somewhere say they didn't like the 2nd half of the movie, so I kept waiting for it to take a down turn, but it only got better.
Fun how he re-wrote the crime scene. My kids were laughing so hard at that they were LITERALLY rolling on the floor. If only it had really happened that way.
