Hadn't thought of Shurmur. He and Zimmer get along well too. Great play-caller. 

I'll place my $$ on keeping it in-house and flying the flag of house Kubiak.

Considering the effusive praise Zim had for Kubiak during the season, I would imagine he hopes Gary takes the OC job, or Klint with his dad continuing to groom him much like the Shanahans. Plus, it would help for the sake of continuity as well.
