Thielen rolls ankle, Diggs DNP 2nd straight practice
#1
Diggs is just an illness, so I'm not overly concerned about that. But Thielen left practice after hurting his ankle. Meanwhile, 49ers have a fully healthy roster. Good. Game will be more evenly matched now.

I've been waiting for some word of severity.  If he's gimpy and slowed because of it or can't play at all then all I can do is shake my head.  Just when he's gotten back to Form and a huge need for Saturday and....  Confused

Well, we do have plenty of practice playing without Thielen...

Without Thielen, our chances - already slim - really take a nose dive. This offense FINALLY started clicking again Sunday with a healthy line up.

According to Reddit, early reports aren't good.

I hope the ankle is not too bad. I read that Diggs has the flu. Sending some positive and healing vibes to the guys.

Hook me up with whatever green you're smoking. San Fran has a better Offense AND a better Defense than NO. A team they hung twice as many points on in their dome as the Vikings did.

Better running game. More receiving weapons in terms of guys that can beat you deep. Way better Defensive Line and LBs.

Their only weaknesses are against the run and Jimmy G is untested, though he clearly can throw the ball much farther down field than Brees. They are also rested and completely healthy.

The Saints had a lot of areas for Minnesota to exploit that you and I pointed out before the game. San Francisco has less. If the Vikings can't get Cook going this will be an ass whooping.

Pretty sure that was sarcasm or false bravado meant to be funny.

Whew. I'm sort of concerned that Vikings fans were so sure that the team would lose in New Orleans that they're now swinging the opposite direction against a clearly better team.

I don't trust the CBs at all this game. The Sendejo Big Nickel and Griff/Hunter as DTs wrinkles aren't going to be nearly as effective, though I assume Zimmer will have different wrinkles.

And while there were a lot of encouraging signs on Offense they still only put up 20 in regulation. That won't cut it on Saturday.

On the positive side the running game should continue to produce. The 9ers best run stuffing DT is done for the year. That Line is a lot more about sacks than shutting down the run. The LBs and Safeties are.good, though. Especially Warner. He can really cover too. Sherman is still savvy and might be able to give Diggs some problems. Thielen is crucial.

If Thielen is out Saturday, that's a huge blow...
