This is just crazy. NFL Network reporting that Rhule gave the Giants an opportunity to match the six year deal the Panthers offered.

Another Bellichek coordinator. Great track record there.

Ok, Garrett was supposed to interview there too.

Giants hired ex-Patriots special teams coordinator and WRs coach Joe Judge as head coach.Judge was thought to be New England's OC-in-waiting or the next head coach at Mississippi State but promptly jumped at the Giants' opportunity following Matt Rhule's hiring in Carolina. 38-year-old Judge becomes the league's second-youngest head coach behind Sean McVay (33) following a stint under Nick Saban at Alabama before joining Bill Belichick and the Patriots as the team's special teams assistant in 2012. With the Giants having recently requested permission to interview ex-Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, it's possible the tenured veteran sticks in the NFC East as an assistant or coordinator under Judge a la Wade Phillips initially joining McVay's staff. It's an interesting (and surprising) hire, to say the least.
