I still get a sense the fan-base is a bit polarized on him.
Are you waiting for another big game (or 2 or 3) to decide?

Does Viking Nation believe in KC yet?

I'm getting there. He's playing at a high level and seems to have solved his fumbling issue. His two biggest weapons have either been out or ineffective for an extended period and he's still been effective.
I'll need a bit more than the last ten games to set aside his prior years, but the needle is definitely pointing in the right direction.

I believe that he and the system are complementing each other, which is far better than has been achieved with out QBs and systems for years.
I really like Kirk, and I want his story in Purple to be one of redemption, of victory, of bitch-slapping his naysayers as he gets a storied-but-cursed team to its first Superbowl victories. I think he can do it, honestly, and I think that Kubiak's arrival could be an enormous gain for both Cousins and the team. I don't blame Kirk, at least solely, for many issues he's had to date. The Fore Redskins were and are a chaotic mess under Dan Snyder, and our o-line was a complete mess most of last year and into this season. That said, the guy under center makes his money by finding a way...which is both fair and unfair at the same time. I think Kirk is growing into the QB he wants to be, and that we need him to be. He can silence a lot of naysayers (and some of my remaining concerns) by being that guy for us going forward.

My biggest complaint is the 10-15 yard back pedal. its going to bite us at the worst time.

I like him way more now than I did at the begining of the season. Like many others, I wanted him off the team after the BS Bears game.
He's been coached up by the Vikings staff, and his decision making and leadership has improved so much. I trust him way more than I did after the first few games. The guy is having an awesome year, and it's surpised me, but I'm loving it. B)

I have always thought picking up Cousins was the right thing to do. Had some rough times but I think it's starting to pay off.

I think I misinterpreted his professional demeanor through last season as too carefree and I couldnt see past this guy who couldnt accept responsibility for his shortcomings. By the time we had the Thielen meltdown, I was just like, 'common Kirk, figure it out." Kirk was in the first year of a sinking season, I thought he seemed distant in a way by the time the ashes blew away from our early success...
It carried into this season, and while Kirk was struggling early I thought I could see it in his body language. He was flustered and ratttled at times and I wondered 'where was this attitude last season?' He wasn't just showing up for games like it seemed in his first season, I could see he was putting it all on himself to play better. I could see his expectations were higher as he struggled. I know he can put up big numbers. I know he can manage a hell of a game. He's won me over with his competitive attitude at this point. He's gone through some shit, gotten over it and come out of it a sharper and hungrier QB. I think we're all in awe watching, knowing the sky is the limit on his Viking narrative and story. And maybe holding our breath his WR Coaching career is truly over lol...

In 2018 Week 2 @ GB everyone saw he could y sling it. The issues were with the other parts of his game. KC has improved his play,
He's drastically reduced his fumbles and turnovers. 2018 after 14 weeks Vikings had 5 Turnovers that went for TD's in 2019 they have 0. Sure seems like this offense ,and Kubiak is a great fit with him. Hiving a year experience in this offense is gonna only make KC better in 2020. By his play, KC has made a lot of talking heads look bad. Embarrassingly bad. |
