Alexander Mattison (ankle) remained sidelined at Friday's practice.Mattison hasn't practiced all week, casting serious doubt on his availability for Sunday's game in Los Angeles. Mike Boone would slot in as Dalvin Cook's backup if Mattison is ultimately ruled out against the Chargers in Week 15.

Stefanski said Boone might be the most improved player on the squad too...

Q: What does Mike Boone bring to the table compared to Alexander Mattison?
A: I think Mike (Boone) has had a really good year going back to training camp. I think he’s worked very hard, maybe no player has come as far as he has. I think credit to the kid. Credit to Kennedy Polamalu on bringing him along, I think the skillset you see in the preseason, you see a really skilled runner, a guy that can be explosive, can make plays when they’re blocked well, can make plays when they’re not blocked so well. If he’s called upon this week, I think he’ll be ready to go. He’s another option for us like I really look at that whole stable of running backs that depending on Alexander’s (Mattison) availability, all those guys have to be ready.

Vikings made the right call with Boone. Roc Thomas, who some on this board loved, hasn't signed with anyone after getting an initial sniff with the Jaguars in August.

Boone has fresh legs and talent...we haven't had many explosive runs (phrasing) in 3 weeks...Chargers are susceptible to the run...pound the rock and put Rivers down 6 times...

MAttison needs to stop that vaulting over players bs...

2019; the rise of Dennison & Kenny Polamalu and demise of Jerry Gray

I love the way Boone runs hard. Reminds me of Matt Breida. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he has a big game on Sunday.

Remember this? Btw, #48 keeping up with him is 6 ft, 235 lb fullback Khari Blasingame.

Hes a hurdler from way back,  I dont know that you can undo that tendency.  As long as he takes care of the football and isnt losing yardage as a result he can breakdance down the field IMO.

Agreed. I really don't think its a big deal. Its not how he got hurt anyway.
