Thielen likely out again
#1
If Thielen had been a game time decision when they pulled him, that would be one thing. But they ruled him out a full day before the game in which he was supposed to return. That was a bad sign. So this should come as no surprise.

Adam Thielen (hamstring) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice.Dalvin Cook (chest/shoulder) was also listed as a limited participant. Cook has reiterated he'll play numerous times this week, but Thielen's injury is more ominous since he was limited prior to Monday's contest and still couldn't make it back in time. Fantasy players should have a backup plan at the ready just in case Thielen's surprisingly scratched on Sunday for the second straight week.

Just shut him down. Hamstring injuries are so unpredictable. I injured mine about 6 years ago, and it was mild, and it still flairs up when I'm working out sporadically after all this time. I can only imagine an athlete like Thielen injuring his and trying to come back. Tough sledding.

Tough year for sure.

Healthy AT could have made a difference in Seattle...

After being week by week by week by week I finally said we would be lucky to get him back by the end of the season and that would only be if the Packers or Bears games meant anything.

I wouldn't go that far. He's already sat out 5 games and part of a 6th. I'd be pretty surprised if he's not back for Green Bay.

Na we dont have a couple bad breaks holding us back. We have a bad defense holding us back. If we were even just Zimmer average defense we’d be golden.

It's not a bad defense either. It's worse than it's been, but a lot of that has to do with not being able to count on our shut down corner. A corner you can count on to take away half the field frees up so many other things. This defense was built on that. For the first time, Zimmer has to figure out how to play defense without that key element. And he's not really doing a good job of that.

Seattle is a good example. Vikings decided they were going to take away Wilson's deep game and let the front seven manage the run. For the most part it was working in the first half. And because we had the lead, the momentum AND got the ball to start the 2nd half, he didn't change that strategy. But a quick turnover, a fake punt and a blown coverage changed all that.

It'll be interesting to see what we do against Detroit, particularly Marvin Jones, who ate Rhodes' lunch last time. With a rookie UDFA at the helm, I think Rhodes will try to jump a few routes. If it works, it will go a long way toward getting his swagger back. If it doesn't, he could spiral even further down.

I also think he'll be back for the Pukers game.  That will be essentially 8 weeks off, hopefully that's enough.
