Wait what was Kushner doing meeting with Ukraine leader?

https://www.newsweek.com/ukraine-russia-zelensky-trump-impeachment-kushner-1461734

What was Kushner doing at a dinner for diplomats?

“An image has been shared on social media of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky sitting next to White House adviser Jared Kushner at a diplomatic dinner with European leaders, some seven weeks before the controversial phone call between President Donald Trump and Zelensky that sparked impeachment proceedings.

So far, Kushner's name has been far from the growing firestorm in Washington over the call and the whistleblower's document alleging Trump pressured Zelensky into investigating former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter.

The picture, uploaded to photo-sharing site Flickr, shows Trump's son-in-law sitting with Zelensky to his right on June 4, two weeks after the Ukrainian president's inauguration.
The picture's caption noted that the dinner marked the U.S. Mission to the EU's annual Independence Day celebrations and was hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to the EU, Gordon Sondland.”

Hearing now that McConnell has said he will hold a trial for removing Trump if house sends him an impeachment. Also hearing that upwards of 35 republican senators would vote in favor of removal if they were able to do so in secret (per Jeff Flake)....

I think republicans do not want Trump on the ballot next year. I think they want someone like Mitt or Kasich.

Also just heard that Ukraines Leader is changing his name to Monica Zelensky..... That may or may not be true.

shit... they didnt want him on the last one.  another example of a party rushing to alienate itself from the majority of its voters and from the bulk of the country.

I am out of the loop,  what connections does Flake still have in washington that he knows the minds of 35 senators despite not being part of the shit show for over 5 years?

Now where's what I don't get... It just hasn't sunk in yet has it? That the president is in it for himself to such a degree that most people that still support him just don't get that he doesn't give a shit about you. To say that a lot of politicians just don't give a shit about most of us is probably not wrong at all. But this guy..... Not only does he just not give a shit about you, he is using you in a way that is making our country weaker and making life for middle class worse. He is selling us out to Russia and has been all along. How many times do we have to see him doing this before it opens your eyes. For pete's sake the other day he sat with the leader of Ukraine (who has been invaded by Russia) and said (paraphrasing but barely) I think you and vlad should kiss and make up. The look on Zelensky's face was like "WTF?????".... Now don't ge tme wrong it isn't that I think he is trying to bring down America and make us Russia East. The guy owes powerful folks in Russia a metric shit ton of money and he wants to do business in Russia. We know he wanted to build a tower there. We know he has borrowed lots of money from them (his own son is on tape saying "We get a lot of money from Russia")....

What is it going to take to say..... "Yeah, ya know there might be something there... Maybe we should look at this a bit more".

It's crazy to me.

was Hillarys dealings with Russia as concerning to you when she was oking the sales of nuclear material?  What about when Russia was actually gearing up and screwing with the Ukraine prior to their seige on Crimea,  were you calling for Obama to do something then to halt the rebuilding of the USSR?  Were you laughing or shaking your head when Palin was being mocked for bringing up Russia as still being a threat?

I am not bringing up the past to try and diminish anything that Trump is doing,  but instead asking why are his dealing more concerning than in those of the leaders in the immediate past ?  I dont like any foreign interests messing with our democratic process,  foreign countries,  or the billionaires that own them.  I am not happy with Trumps mix of the oval office and what appears to be his personal dealings,  but I am not naive enough to believe for one second that it hasnt happened just as much with team blue in office,  so I dont believe the outrage or patriotism from those railing against trump as genuine in the interest of the US as much as they are still trying to save face from the fact that they lost the last election to the guy.

I dont know Mike,  I honestly dont know and it really has gotten me to the point of apathy.  sure once in a while something triggers me,  but for the most part I just tune most of it out anymore.

Isn’t that funny....

Quote:On May 13th Russian state TV reported that no US officials would be attending the inauguration in Ukraine, on direct orders from Trump. According to the #WhistleblowerComplaint, on May 14th Trump ordered Pence not to attend. How did the Russians know that?

GOP Senator “too busy” to read the 7 (yes.... seven) page whistleblower report. That’s called not doing your job!

Quote:The nine-page report outlines Trump's illicit activities related to Ukraine and 2020 election interference.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) says she has yet to read a whistleblower report outlining credible allegations Trump abused his power by pressuring a foreign government to investigate a political foe, in order to help his chances in the 2020 election.

"I haven't read the full report," Ernst, one of several vulnerable senators up for reelection in 2020, told a Washington Post reporter Thursday afternoon.

The "full report" to which she is referring is a total of seven pages long, plus an additional two-page appendix. Ernst said she was unable to discuss the allegations in it.

"If you do want to talk about ethanol, I am happy to talk about ethanol because that’s where all my efforts are right now," she added.

A reasonable take.....

"SNIP......

Rep. Mark Amodei (R-NV) told the Nevada Independent that he supports the House’s inquiry into whether President Trump should be impeached, but is withholding judgment on whether Trump has crossed the legal line.

Said Amodei: “Let’s put it through the process and see what happens.”

He added: “Using government agencies to, if it’s proven, to put your finger on the scale of an election, I don’t think that’s right. If it turns out that it’s something along those lines, then there’s a problem.”
