where has Bisi JOhnson been since TC?  I figured he would be a bit more involved than we have seen to date.
Kinda my thoughts as well.  But I guess Irv Smith has been getting more looks, so who cares about the #3 WR.
which was kind of my comments all camp when people were having shit fits about who was going to be the #3.... in a Kubiak style offense,  it really doesnt matter as long as 1 and 2 stay healthy.
Was just thinking about that wondering who that was that pointed out our TEs would be the #3 WR.

Hell his salary was already guaranteed, won’t cost anything or affect the cap...

Yeah, isn't this like bringing in a guy that was kind of on "paid leave"? Does it even make any impact on the Vikings' payroll - or what Treadwell receives?

Could this also be about Special Teams? Didn't Treadwell play on both kick coverage units?

yes and he actually looked pretty good at it as well.  now that his agent has seen little to no interest around the league and the egos are checked,  if Treadwell can contribute solidly on special teams and find a nitch role in the offense.. why not keep him around on the cheap?

His nitch role should be special teams and handing out water at the gaterade cooler

of course preseason mean nothing, but he actually looked decent this year IMO.   no illusions of him challenging for serious PT with the starting O,  but that can be said about 70% of the receivers in the league,   doesnt mean they cant be useful though.

People need to get over their hard on with him being a disappointment and look at him as a guy filling a role until a better prospect comes along.  we are actually pretty fortunate that we didnt have to burn additional cap on a guy that wont contribute much anyway.

I agree. And one thing he is quite good at is blocking. He can contribute on offense occasionally and perhaps special teams. I doubt he gets much playing time though.

If he's even active on game day...

It is. I've heard a couple people say that the Vikings probably couldn't get a receiver like Jordan Matthews to play special teams.

I'm no Treadwell fan, but I think this is a solid move when you factor everything in.
