NYG Daniel Jones - Comeback Kid? Vikings' Kirk Cousins -not so much?
#1
Jones went on the road, in his first start in the NFL, as a ROOKIE, and led his team back from an 18 point deficit for an ACTUAL victory. Not an ALMOST win. Not a TIE. Not a win in some alternate universe. Not a win via some revisionist history. Not a "woulda-coulda-shoulda" victory. A REAL victory. Documented, in the books. FACTUAL.

Cousins? 19 games with the Vikings, numerous opportunities for a TRUE comeback, ZERO wins.

Who knows if it will last (it probably won't last long), but I just found it interesting how Jones has responded after being absolutely BLASTED and ridiculed all off season by the National and NYC Media (ya, know, the most savage media on the planet?). Glad the kid had his moment in his first start, because I think it will get ugly for the Giants this year. But no one can deny that he showed he's got BALLS. Good for you, Daniel!

That is all.

I am not sure what is:
TRUE comeback
ACTUAL victory

Anyway,
Daniel Jones: 6th overall pick
Cousins: 7th pick in 4th round

Jones: Rookie
Cousins: 7th year in NFL

Jones: First game in NFL
Cousins: I did not care to check

So I am not sure what we are comparing here. Are we also going to compare Cousins to Kyler Murray?

I mean good for Daniel Jones I guess. Not really relevant but whatever works for you. Jones is in a high pressure market. He is a rookie. He will have some ups and downs. Nice to see some fresh faces play well.

The jury is still out on Pat Shurmur as a head coach, but I have no doubt he is an excellent offensive coordinator and works extremely well with quarterbacks. That's a huge part of any success Jones enjoys.

For all the credit given to Keenum for 2017 (deservedly), I feel the wonder was Shurmur+Keenum. I know we couldn't keep him, but Shurmur with Cousins would probably be a very different story from what we have seen.
