Perfect pairing...AB will thrive under Belichek and with Brady
This is what I thought.  And they will win 3 more SBs and Bellichek will be voted the supreme god of football.
Pretty sure he already is.

It would be awesome if the NFL suspended AB for up to a year for the shenanigans he pulled.  Not surprised that the Patriots were there to swoop in and sign him up.  With the Pats shady record throughout the years, I wouldn't be surprised they had something to do with what transpired between AB and the Raiders the past few days.

I know AB acted a fool but he is really smart when you think about it

The Raiders TRADED for him. He did not go there willingly.

They gave him about 29 to 30 mil guaranteed but only a 1 mil signing bonus.

That bonus was split into two 500K payments this year and next.

And to get that 500K he had to participate in 85% of the off season stuff which he did NOT.

So the Raiders did not give him one penny. Yet.
He would have been guaranteed 14 mil opening day which is probably why he was acting a fool and trying not to get hurt.

I personally do not believe he ever wanted to play for the Raiders and with Carr.

So he engineered his way out of the Raiders.

Now he is getting 9 mil right away and the chance to get up to 15 mil.

Plus he gets to play with the GOAT.

I did not personally like the way he want about this but you really have to blame the Raiders.

How do you trade a 3rd and 5th for a guy and then NOT give him several million right away (via a signing bonus)?

I mean he signed the deal because he had no choice after getting traded.

But the Raiders did not really go out on a limb financially.

They just gave up draft picks.

If I am a Raider fan I am asking why did they not give him some millions right away after trading picks for him?

My thoughts exactly.   I can see players now pulling these things just so they can go where they want, especially if they are on l
historically losing teams.

The Raiders were idiots in this scenario and Antonio Brown acted foolish. Both are true. It feels like such a set up that he gets to go to the Patriots though.

If you are Brown and the Raiders only gave you 500K but you had to participate in 86% of the off season stuff then they are showing you that they really are scared to make a commitment.
If he would have gotten injured then they would not have to pay him anything more.
So why should he go through all the practice stuff?
The Patriots give him 9 mil right away.
Of course the season is starting so it is different but I imagine they would have done the same deal earlier.
The Raiders did not really show him they wanted him.

Bad precedent set here,  tells players that all they have to do is become a pain in the ass and you get what you want.
Really really bad precedent.
