The best that college has to offer???? That is hilarious, and tells me alot about your football IQ! The guys he played against got cut on Saturday too! The best that college had to offer actually made the teams. In order to get a chance on any team, a QB has to show in practice and the meeting room he can handle the game plan. Apparently Sloter wasn't catching on. He did not earn the right to play against tougher competition. This is a charity event, you have to earn your spot. He failed at the first step, so you don't get to take step two.
If he was as talented as you think he is, wouldn't some other teams have claimed him? Word gets around the league about players who just can't grasp the game....looks like that happened to Sloter.

I'm game, but unless you pull your head out as a poster here I am done with you being a dick because some (quite a few ) fans simply wanted to see more before seeing Sloter cut. and as far as earning a right... tell me again what Mannion did to deserve to be handed that #2 role when he got here? If you want to believe you know more than me because you listen to PA.. well go right ahead and be wrong on that point as well. I would say Sloters biggest issue is his self promotion and his folks, teams dont want drama and Sloter and his parents were getting fed up with him not getting a shot, they and many many others thought he deserved, and were becoming more public with their issues. maybe you want to wait until the final chapters are written before you crown yourself some sort of internet message board king.

So what have we established here?
Fans often border on delusion and most obviously belong only in the business of being fans (fanatics) and not in roster decisions. There were fans here that overestimated his worth in the NFL. And there are some poster here that want it known they are smarter than others. Many hoped Sloter would develop, maybe a few hoped he wouldn't, some put way too much energy into either side. And lastly, Kyle Sloter is no longer a Viking for the simple reason, he wasn't good enough to warrant a roster spot.

This isn't college, this is the NFL. Who cares about the lower level talent in the NFL he competed against, who weren't good enough to play in the NFL?
What did Manion do to deserve the shot? He understood the offensive game plan and succeeded in practice. He also succeeded in the meeting room. The two things I have been saying all along why Sloter was not getting more chances. You can't just judge a guy playing in vanilla offense against vanilla defense, against other players who weren't good enough to keep a roster spot. I looked at Sloters preseason games, I also listened to the coaches and other team personnel who told anyone who would listen that Sloter was not progressing as needed. What is wrong with listening to all angles? No other coaches or GM's just looked at preseason hype like the Sloter fans did, they used complete analysis to decide to pass on picking him up on waivers, and all other teams passed. Yet, somehow they all missed Sloter's talent? Tunnel vision or complete analysis? I chose the later........Sloter was brought here as a project. He failed to progress, and remained too much of a project, so the Vikings moved on. I respect that decision.
