Gonna give the CB whisperer the benifit of doubt on this one.  Hope they didn't give up too much.

Fields had like 3 penalties in the last preseason game against the Pack, and Andy Reid was supposedly ‘animated’.   The kid was probably going to get cut, but I guess we did not think he would make it through waivers to get to us.   Hope its just a 7th rounder we gave up.

If it's our 7th, that will be Mr. Irrelevant.  Wink

Starting CB at Clemson last year, very fast. Team wanted to sign him very much as a UDFA. Pretty hard to discount Zimmer/Gray's track record with secondary personnel and finding the gems. 5'10", a solid 195 lbs.

2 quick thoughts:

  1. This indicates to me that Hughes will be ready week 1.  Otherwise, I think they would have picked up a veteran db rather than a developmental db.
  2. As for his penalties last week, the glass half full view is that at least he was close enough to the receivers to foul (rather than yards of separation).

I would really like to keep Mac Man, he hasdeveloped really nicely the last two seasons. I bet he is rated and regarded as one of the premier slot CBs by the end of this year.   Bring in another talented but unrefined Clemson kid and lets see what develops.

Xavier, I love you man but you better have a good year (trade bait next year) bc I think I would rather roll with TW3, Hughes, Mac, maybe Hill, and possibly this kid moving forward.

I hear you.  Love Xavier but he wasn't the same last year.
