The Bern called Baltimore a third world country. Baltimore was one of the few places that I felt unsafe.

Baltimore sucks. And its better now than it used to be. But the Prez should not be saying as much, certainly not in the manner he did. But I really don't care.

I'll agree that it isn't "presidential" but what has Trump done that is?  He's a loud mouth and this is one of the few times where he's pretty much saying the exact same thing as everyone else.

What I find interesting on Baltimore is that there was no mention of race in his tweets.  Yet liberals saw the words and implied it has to be racial.  Nothing about Baltimore being a shit hole has to do with people with different shades of skin pigment.

If Trump REALLY cared about the citizens of Baltimore, why wouldn't he talk about policies that would improve their lives?  Even if it was just boiler-plate conservative policies, it would seem that THAT might do more to continue a discussion than just hit-and-run twitter comments.  If he wanted to do this as an attention-getter: great!  But now that you have everyone's attention, how about offering some solutions?  His policies have already helped African-American unemployment to go down... and increased their weekly take-home pay.  Why not highlight those things, along with some other suggestions (contact Ehrlich, the former Republican governor, and find out what he tried to do- but was thwarted by the Democrat-controlled state congress).

We all want to yell at our political "enemies" and call them names (especially when those names are completely accurate).  But in the end, it only helps "us" to feel better about ourselves- and does nothing to solve the problems that real people are having.

As an aside: there IS a part of me that thinks that Baltimore residents "deserve" the lives they are experiencing, since they have- overwhelmingly- voted Democrat for generations.

I still maintain that Trump does this on purpose.  Just to inflame the left, inflame the media,
get everyone distracted from something.
Sure Trump is a media master...I also think much of what is said, implied, tweeted etc. comes from a place of someone who's values and view of humanity and our country as stewards of much - doesn't align with my own.

Love him as a biz CEO, not as a leader of the free world. I dont think he even views himself as such...
Wait what did you love about him as a Biz/CEO? The ability to bankrupt a casino? Not even getting into politics the guy is a fucking disaster as a businessman.

How so?  If an alcoholic goes into a bar... and then falls off the wagon... I would blame the disease.  But I'd also blame the person for the choices that they've made.

The people of Baltimore (I've lived there, remember) have elected the same people for 2 generations.  It is so obvious that the residents are going to vote for Dems, that often they run un-opposed.  You tell me, Mike: who's to blame for the conditions of Baltimore?  Trump?
