I have no idea if he will be impeached or not. i don't really care about that. But impeachment is seriously being looked at. Meanwhile I am looking at moving to our potential new state of Greenland.
Impeachment is a joke.  Its being used as a political monetary contribution tool by the Dems.  They'll vote on impeachment but it'll be near election time when they really want to get people riled up to go out and vote.  Right now they and everyone else knows with the current make up of the Senate its DOA anyway.

I don't think it's a joke at all. The speaker is the same one that refused to even discuss impeachment against GWB. And I agreed with that. She took that completely off the table because it would have been terrible for the country. That same speaker has maintained the same sentiment now while not specifically taking it off the table. The only thing that will bring about impeachment is if there is a reason to do it through oversight. That is the way impeachment should work. That's the way it was designed. If you are already predisposed to saying it is politically motivated and thus a joke then you don't believe in the structure of our government.

If we are going to look at the political motivations behind an impeachment I don't think we can overlook Clinton's whitewater investigations that cleared him of that but resulted in him being impeached (though not convicted) over lying about a blowjob (something he never should have done - I don't care what your definition of is is).

In the end I don't think he will be impeached but that doesn't mean that the proper committees in congress do not have a job to do.

I don't think that people can square up Hillary's investigations and Bills investigations and then at the same time say that Donald Trump shouldn't have oversight as well. Either you are for checks and balances or you aren't. I think removing our institutions is the last thing we should be giving up.

LMAO

It doesn’t work that way.

Name the crime.  Name the high crimes or misdemeanors.

They are in search of something.

After Mueller said no collusion and Barr said no obstruction.  And we now know Russia was a hoax created by Obama admin to take him down.

I havent believed or believed in government since I was old enough to think for myself. There go nsa put that in my file.

Bill got caught lying to congress. The republicans used it as political theater. Nothing more nothing less. Hillary’s investigation was on par with the pope investigating priests for diddling little kids.

What was gwb going to get impeached for?  Wmd’s?  Honestly if its not that Im lost?

Bottles my mind how so many otherwise intelligent posters get Clinton's impeachment history so wrong.
(I guess all the recent posts about misunderstanding events that happened before one's own eyes, have some validity, after all)

BJ CLINTON DID NOT GET IMPEACHED BECAUSE HE LIED ABOUT A BJ.
He lied in a sexual harassment suit brought by Paula Jones.  A suit that was deemed allowed by a federal judge, Susan Webber Wright.
Are we trivializing sexual harassment now?  #metoo is so passe, I guess.

Here are the criminal charges Independent Counsel Starr referred to the Congress of the United States re: BJ Clinton:

Here are the criminal charges Special Counsel Mueller referred to AG Barr re: DJ Trump:

^^ null set.
In mathematical sets, the null set, also called the empty set, is the set that does not contain anything.  Smile

However, Mike is right-on that Trump impeachment is the constitutional "remedy" to "get rid" of Trump, and is under consideration by the House Dems.
To that I say, "Bring it (impeachment) on, Bishes!"

A1J is also right, there is supposed to be 'high crimes & misdemeanors' specified.
Which is why the House is set on fishing expeditions for Trump tax returns and personal attorney (McGahn's) testimony, since Mueller gave them bupkis.

Plebe summer is over!  He got his phone back.

He loves his detailers.  He lives his company.  He loves his platoon.  He is leaning towards astronautical engineer as his major.  He made D1 rowing - coach said he was strong enough already to be on team but he decided not to do it.  Wants to experience all with his company.  They bumped him up to the top running group with the wide receivers and corners, soccer players, track and cross country runners.

Loves USNA.  I just got back from Plebe Parent Weekend.

Oh - good post.  Wink

Well...that wasn't so bitter.   Wink

That just rawks, A1.
Plebe summer <<< rigorous than Plebe AY.... but a great start is a great start.
God bless him.
He needs to re-apply 'game-face', this fall.  No doubt, he's up to it.
Tell him "Lt. Cannonball Arne...." sends him his best  (long story, lol << perhaps I'm legendary, past OfficerIndoctrinationSchool OIS, Newport...I'd like to think so)

Last Tuesday (the hottest day in Atlanta in 3 yrs) 95 actual, 'feels like' 105,  I moved my daughter into GaTech.
From the below ground level parking lot/cargo van up 3 flights of stairs to her room.  I'm 56 yo...but my daughter/wife were "fresh as daisies" after the move.  **flex muscles**
Me?  More swamp-ass, than Bradbury.
