"Noah Fant is firing back at some of the criticism that’s been leveled his way.
The Denver Broncos’ rookie first-rounder hasn’t been one of training camp’s studs, in terms of flash plays and consistency. From the outside looking in, some might say that he looks like a lot of rookies do five practices into training camp — like he’s swimming.
Following Monday’s practice session, the young tight end talked about managing the pressures of being a first-rounder, saying that his internal expectations for himself “are pretty high” and that he doesn’t really feel pressure “from everyone else”.
Meanwhile, there have been rumblings that Fant has looked a little lost and lethargic at times, needing the cajoling of teammates to finish reps stronger. Some in Denver media have questioned Fant’s conditioning even. It could simply be a young guy still acclimating to the Mile High altitude."
