who do they actually work for?  who "owns" the US world cup teams?

also,  if they dont like the pay,  dont play.  why is it a public issue that they arent paid as much as the men.  if they are generating more revenue than the men.. then they need to take matters into their own hands and not play for that wage.  their success or their talents are not important here,  its about money and leverage.  if they are generating more money (which its sounds like they are)  then they should have been holding out and not playing.  I think its dumb as shit to take a job (knowing what it pays)  and then bitching about it.  if they use the leverage that they have and refuse to play for shit wages then the owners can decide if no pie is better than half a slice.

Lets not let the fact that the men generate so much more revenue ($4B versus $75M)than the women get in the way, right?  Perhaps they should pool the money and create a winner take all purse between the men and womens world championship teams?

Rapinoe and company were more worried about their self-glorification after their win than dignifying the country they played for.  Think about the original Dream Team and how they respected their country.  Compare them to this team who showed absolutely no respect by trampling all over the US flag in their celebration.  I’d rather have a team that was proud of their country in addition to how proud they are of themselves. I did witness a team member rescue the flag, but for a few of the outspoken team members, I hope they understand that they’re hardly role models, just self-absorbed  blowhards speaking out on topics where they’re much more ignorant than the people they are trying to denigrate.

Kelly Ohara was the Woman who saved the flag from Rapinoe’s cleats.  She’s the actual hero and i hope she gets endorsements as a result.

I saw somewhere that the women of the world cup actually get a much higher percentage of the world cup income than the guys do.  And in the US, of the top 10 paid soccer players, 5 are men and 5 women IIRC.

Worldwide there is a large disparity in pay and it is pretty obvious that the US women are elite among that group.  But they are paid like it.  The rest of the world is far behind on pay and skill for the female soccer players.

Actually the women generate 400 million but your point is correct.  Im not positive on the percentages but I read where the men recieve something like 9% of the billions that they generate and the women actually recieve 13% of what they generate. So it is not like they are being paid unfairly its just the reality of the situation that the money isnt there too pay them like the men.  This isnt like a title IX program where the sport is subsudized by the more popular ones.
