I think its something they should strongly consider if the Draft falls right. Does anyone really believe Minnesota is going to extend Cousins contract beyond the 3 years he signed for? I say absolutely not. Take a shot at his potential successor right now....and again next year if necessary. The Vikings would have no problem signing a veteran band aid, they are available every year in FA at the QB position, but that just kicks the can down the road. The Draft is where they need to go with this.
If the Vikings are mediocre again this year, they'll be in rebuild mode for sure the next offseason. The staff will most likely be fired. The organization needs to prepare for the future at this position regardless. Taking a QB in the 7th round isn't doing anything. Sloter seems to be an afterthought. Draft a kid and let him learn without pressure.
