Anthony Barr 'sick' last night about going to the Jets....
#1
He said the decision just didn't feel right for him. Changed his mind and got a deal done with Minnesota. All this per Adam Schefter. Loves Minnesota and the team culture. Vikes sweetened deal last night but definitely took less.

I found this strangely endearing.

Me too. I said on another post, he always reminded me of Matt Blair, a smart and calm presence with so much versatility, and it will be nice to know he's probably going to be here for most of his career.

I like Barr, but as far as production, he's no where near what Blair gave us...

I heard Barr was at Manny's last night with Antoine Winfield and Kirk Cousins.

For as much as some (not all) fans like to rag on Zimmer...  he really has created a great team culture and players love playing for him.

Obviously, he hasn't delivered a Super Bowl (yet), but I firmly believe he's the right guy to lead this team.  He's also humble enough to know when he needs to bring in people to help him be the best HC he can be.  He had that with Shurmur and I have a feeling Kubiak will really help the offense this season.

For Barr to go back on his decision to sign with the Jets speaks volumes to what Zimmer has created here IMO.

I was indifferent hearing Barr was going to the Jets.  I've always thought of him as a good player, and was glad to have him, but didn't think he'd be worth a big contract moving forward.  Obviously I'm happy to have him back, if we don't have a good replacement plan, because I think our window is a couple years with our current team.  We have too many large contracts to keep this train going for much longer...

And as said above, I think Zim is a great coach for the Vikings.  He's a no BS guy that the players respect and work hard for.  Yes he has some faults in game management, but hopefully he can work well with Kubiak and get this thing going this year.

If he was with A. Winfield, AW probably told him all the reasons why he did not choose going to the Jets back in 2004 (and why he chose the Vikes! Kirk as well probably had some stuff to say about why he did not choose the Jets. Interesting two dudes to hang out with for a dinner. Did not know that AW and KC were buds.
