Might have to sacrifice a little bit on defense to fix the offense, and then hope Zimmer works some magic.

But its not really a surprise, right? This was definitely discussed as something that was likely and not just being speculation.

Am I the only one not impressed with Richardson and not upset byhis departure?  He had some splash plays rushing QB but I felt he was pretty invisible in the run defense.   Seems like we were gashed a lot last year when teams ran on us.

I just care about winning and losing. The team had talent last year and it got them 8 wins. This organization has had extremely talented rosters and have always come up short. Don't care how they do it, just do it.

I'm sure after all the big $$ contract extensions the D players got, the % of money across o vs d were skewed.

But then the Cousins contract hit and I suspect that imbalance was corrected. 

I just don't see much out there FA wise with OL this year - some tier 2 guys.

In the defensive scheme Zimmer has,  Richardson showed no gap discipline.  He got caught numerous time over running plays and got blocked out of lots of plays.  Occasionally he did make tackles for no gain or minimal losses.  But overall, Goodbye Sheldon...you aren't worth the money.
