This has always been the Vikings approach minus last off-season. You always have more leverage once other teams spend their top dollars to fill similar position of needs. I'd watch the Vikings to scoop up a guard from the likes of AJ Cann, Spain, Miller, Iupati, etc...

Gotta say free agency isn't quite as fun when your fav team missed the playoffs and also has no money to spend.
But we will persevere! And next week it'll be back to draft talk.

I've been checking twitter most of the day. I haven't gotten the sense that Vikings fans are upset or surprised.

They're all about average. Sexy, no. But if you supplement with a good draft pick or two its cost effective.

Don't mind me.  I never like anything they do.  Heck, I don't like my own mock drafts 5 minutes later.
It don't matter what they do but if they do not make the playoffs and if the defense does not play it's best when it matters the most then heads need to roll.
I can't keep trusting this process.
After seeing all 4 Super Bowl losses and being a fan all these years, this current regime leaves a lot to be desired in my eyes.  Not Zimmer so much but his firing of the guy he hired with 3 games left was a bad move in my book.  I look at that move more as a criticism of his hiring the dude in the first place.
Spielman though.  The clock has to be ticking on this dude.  There is no Lombardi Trophy in Minnesota.  How long does he get?

Again, one team's FO described this as one of the worst FA Classes in recent memory. And then is exacerbated by too many teams with too much money.

Kwon Alexander? In the Box Safety Landon Collins? Trey Burton? Devin Funchess? Honey Badger? Every single freaking one of these dudes is a contributor on a great team getting paid like that piece that puts your over the hump to getting a ring.

The reality is that the teams giving out these stupid deals are the ones getting humped.

This is the life of NFL free agency. You end up having teams convincing themselves to throw money around to buy a championship. Simply put, when's the last time that happened? The Rams were close last year although they used a lot of trades.

Yep. Happens EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Buying expensive FAs is not the way to go and never has been in the NFL. Fans continue to have short term dementia as they buy in every offseason. Wash, rinse and repeat. Drafting well is always the optimal way to go, unfortunately the Vikings haven't focused on the offensive line.
