JOSH ROSENQB, ARIZONA CARDINALS
NBC Sports' Peter King was told the Cardinals might only get a third-round pick for Josh Rosen."Probably a three," a "renowned NFL GM" told King. "Not what the Cardinals would think his value is." The Cardinals are reportedly planning to select Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick, meaning they need to trade Rosen. Owed a total of $1.98 million in base salary over the next three seasons with minimal roster bonuses, Rosen's contract will be extremely team-friendly for whichever organization trades for him. Teams with aging starters, like the Patriots and Chargers, will likely take a long look if Rosen is actually available.

Cards will be picking #1 again in 2020...I can see it very clearly.

Why not hang onto him and have a competition in case something changes with Murray?  I know its not ideal,  but if you arent going to get shit in return.... hang onto him for another year and see what plays out.

KYLER MURRAYQB, OKLAHOMA SOONERS
According to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury has reportedly told people that it's a "done deal" that the team will select Oklahoma's Kyler Murray with the first overall pick.Murray (5'10, 207) is a player that Kingsbury has been a fan of for quite some time, as he coached against the quarterback last season as the head coach at Texas Tech. But with there being more than a month to go until the draft, a lot can change with Murray still having to go through his pro day. Also worth considering is whether or not this is a smokescreen of sorts, and if Kingsbury will even have the final say as the Cardinals decide who to select with the first overall pick.

Wonder if Kliff plays poker.

Highly interesting and surprising at the same time. Hard to believe the Cards are ready to bail on Rosen already, but if Kingsbury wants this to be his show and its his ass on the line, I like it. Bold. Why not? Old paradigms need to go by the wayside if you want to really win in today's NFL. Get your guys and go win. If not, you gave it your best and on your terms. Not playing with someone else's mistakes.

Fine line between bold and stupid, not playing with someone else's mistakes and doubling down with your own 2-fold mistakes.
Dunno, Rosen didn't seem impressive, but the Cards were crap all around last year.  I am with Jimmy, keep Rosen and make it a competition.

If you draft a guy like Murray, you're going to design an offense around his skill set. Keeping Rosen to compete with Murray would further lower his value under this assumption.

There is something to the only thing worse than making a bad draft choice is continuing to live with it...but the way the Cards seem to be tipping their hand is flat out stupid.

If I were Kleim or KK I'd be singing the praises of Q Williams and force either a trade up to the #1 spot for a team (Oakland) who want Murray (Carr being shopped at the combine) and come away with a bushel of picks or wait on calls from one of the five teams I mentioned previously for Rosen and look for a 4 this year and a 2 the following year that could work up to a one based on team and individual performance.

The Cards are going to suck.

It would not be shocking if Kingsbury went after his own guy. I don't know if it's sound business wise to draft a guy in the 1st then bail and draft another 1st over all. Then not get much for the former choice. Didn't they trade up to get Rosen?  Could be a smoke screen to get interest up for that 1st pick. I have my doubts on Murray. That 1st over all has to be a dead solid pick. If they screw it up they'll get more chances at high picks. With Kingsbury or not.

I think if there’s any real rule in constructing a team it’s
that you need to keep pushing QBs through the pipeline until you get an elite
one.  I’m totally on board with cutting
bait once you know a QB doesn’t have it, but do they really know what they have
at this point?  I’d definitely give him
one more year if the return value is a 3rd.

Don't know why Rosen is getting blasted so much to be honest.  Mainly from people who read things about the dude but never met him themselves.  I cant go out like that myself.
All I know for sure is that last year, PFF had the Cardinals ranked last for offensive lines.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-2018-nfl-offensive-line-rankings-all-32-teams-units-after-week-17

Footballoutsiders had them ranked 26th … https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol

Thru Nov 15th he was the second most pressured (i.e., sacked or hit or under duress) QB in the NFL
at 40% of his drop backs.
He had David Johnson but even DJ could only
get 960 yards rushing (on 258 carries) behind that awful offensive line.
Fitzgerald was his #1 WR. Can you name his other leading receiver? It
was Johnson followed by a rookie, Christian Kirk,

I think the biggest criticism of Rosen was that he was his own man. He had his own thoughts and was opinionated.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000928334/article/2018-nfl-draft-qb-rankings-execs-like-sam-darnold-over-allen

Coaches and GMs have big egos too and they don’t like it when a player has his own thoughts.
If the Vikings are not completely sold on Cousins and might not be sold on Sloter (he did not suit up at all last season) then if they could get Rosen for a 3rd it might be a sneaky good pickup.
