Kap gets paid

https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-colin-k...49703.html

In a stunning decision, quarterback Colin Kaepernick and safety Eric Reid have reached a financial settlement with the NFL in their joint collusion complaint against the league and will take no further action in the case. While sources declined to offer specifics for the decision, Yahoo Sports was told on prior occasions that Kaepernick and Reid would only settle the complaint if a lucrative financial agreement was reached between the players and the NFL.

or did they settle since their case took a hit when Kap was offered a job in the aaf and turned it down saying he would only play for 20 million?

I don't know what the timing means. It's just as odd they settled the day before it's going to arbitration. And that they all agreed to a non-disclosure. That doesn't sound like he didn't get paid at least not to me. Hopefully it means it's the last we hear of it... no unlikely.

Somebody wasn't confident in their case.

nobody saying money didnt change hands,  i just doubt that the league caved, especially after kap reportedly turned down a chance to play in another league.  I think the league was willing to make a small monetary concession to get the non disclosure and to be done with it,  but if it was huge money they would have fought it out IMO.

I don't know... I don't know what the fact he made a total unreasonable demand knowing this start up minor league wouldn't consider close to that has to do with it. One could just as easily assume he knew what he was getting very soon so why work for peanuts when filet mignon is on the plate.  For no work no less. How can anything be certain. This was going to arbitration very soon. I think there's far too much to assume here as far as what was said by several big mouth owners and what this arbitrator was going to believe.
His last season he played in 11 full games. 16 tds to 4 int. 468 rushing and 2 td with 2 fumbles.  So that's 18 tds to 6 turnovers. Not terrible and when you concider some backups that didnt even take the field were getting $4 million. It's real hard to say without a doubt that the arbitrator was going to say he wasn't owed a pay day. If he did get paid those certain big mouth owners will be to blame for their own spotlight hogging. Arbitrators are not as politically motivated as some would believe. Good thing it's not MLB. He would have gotten $20 million for being a .500 pitcher in arbitration.

I thought I read he won 1 game that last season.  And didn't he set some record with only 5 passing yards in one game?  So those stats don't tell the whole story for sure.

I’m happy for him.  I hope the settlement was big.
